Helping People through the Law
Mike has almost three decades of experience as a lawyer, which he uses to help consumers fight debt collection, foreclosure, and consumer fraud and abuse. In the courtroom, he has beaten debt collectors for over $10 million worth of debt, and he has rescued hundreds of consumers from illegal and unfair debt collection practices. Sharing the Knowledge
He is a sought-after speaker for legal matters, and has presented on consumer law and other legal topics at nationwide conferences ranging from SxSW in Austin to the NCLC's Consumer Rights Litigation Conference. He has also taught CLE courses to legal aid attorneys and local attorney groups on best courtroom practices for evidence law, taking depositions, and preparing a case for appeal.
In the Community
Mike attended law school at Florida State University College of Law after getting his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University. He has served on the boards of legal aid organizations including Community Legal Services and St. Michael’s Legal Center for Women and Children, as well as serving as the President of the Tampa Jesuit High School Dads’ Club, where he oversaw efforts to raise over $500,000 for student scholarships along with other community service projects.

Mike is married and has two children. He roots for the Noles on Saturdays and believes that the U.S. will win on the soccer pitch. He's also a licensed amateur radio operator (call sign: AE4AW) and enjoys talking with other hams around the globe.
